Jordan Crawford was once known as “the guy who dunked on LeBron.” Then, after being traded from the Hawks to the Wizards, he was known as “a throw in.” However, those names no longer describe Crawford, as his impressive jumpshot has found a significant role in head coach Flip Saunders rotation.
Since joining Washington, Crawford is averaging over 18 points and 4.5 assists per game. If he had been with the Wizards all season long he would certainly have at least one Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month Award on his shelf.
Last night Crawford’s shooting was again on display as the Wizards took on the star-less Boston Celtics. Crawford hit a two-pointer with two seconds left in the game to send it to overtime. During the overtime period, Crawford hit a three-pointer with 38 seconds left which ended up being the game-winner.
Crawford finished the game with 17 points on 8-of-19 shooting, including seven assists. His rookie teammate John Wall was also instrumental in the win, finishing with 24 points and nine rebounds.
