Samuels Records First Career Double-Double In Start

Samardo Samuels had a career night on Wednesday against the San Antonio Spurs in Cleveland. In addition to the game being Samuels’ first career start, he also recorded his first career double-double, and set a career-high in points and rebounds. Samuels played great throughout the game, finishing with 23 points (10-of-18 FG), 10 rebounds (eight offensive), and three assists in 34 minutes. His previous high in points was 16 against the Magic, and he once recorded nine rebounds against the Suns.

Unfortunately, the performance was bittersweet for Samuels as the Cavaliers lost to the Spurs 109-99. The win marks the Spurs 12th straight 50-win season, tying the longest streak in NBA history.
