Timofey Mozgov is expected to start on Wednesday, October 13th when the Knicks take on the Boston Celtics at Madison Square Garden, according to Frank Isola of the NY Daily News.
The Knicks do not have a formidable big man, so Mozgov has the potential to fill that role for the team going forward. Thus far in preseason play Mozgov has recorded 10 points against Armani Jeans Milano and eight points against the Timberwolves. Nothing too spectacular, and he was in foul trouble in both games; fouling out against the Timberwolves.
However, head coach Mike D’Antoni has praised the Russian big since the start of training camp, leading many to believe D’Antoni has a man crush on the kid. Let’s see how Mozgov fairs against the Celtics on Wednesday where he’ll be banging with an old, but still large Shaquille O’Neal.
