You know the NBA is in full swing when veterans have their respective rookies in check. So far this season we have seen the Pacers’ Roy Hibbert wake Paul George up bright and early to go marching in the streets of Indianapolis, we also recently heard about the Wizards’s rookies busting out to TLC’s No Scrub’s at a team outing, now we have LaMarcus Aldridge of the Trail Blazers making sure his teams rookies know how to Dougie.
After an open practice, Aldridge took center stage as he announced to the fans that the rookies had a little treat for them. Who knew that treat would be Elliot Williams, Seth Tarver, Luke Babbitt, Armon Johnson, and Dwight Lewis breaking it down to “Teach Me How To Dougie” by Cali Swag District.
From the video it appears no one taught Babbitt the dance, as he looks to his teammates early on for guidance. Eventually Babbitt gets the hang of it and goes solo in the middle of the floor as fans cheer him on.
This isn’t the first time NBA rookies have danced to “Teach Me How To Dougie.” John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins, and Tiny Gallon put on a performance at the 2010 NBA Rookie Photo Shoot dancing to the song. So which performance was better? The Blazers’ rookies or the one at the 2010 NBA Rookie Photo Shoot? Let us know in a comment below.
