NBA Rookie Tweet of the Day

Maybe we now know why Daniel Orton, the bench player from Kentucky, fell to the bottom of the first round in the 2010 NBA Draft. Orton’s debut with the Orlando Magic was a complete disaster.

Orton struggled from the field, making only one of his eight shots, committing five fouls, and turning the ball over four times. He finished the game with three points, a number he was accustomed to scoring while playing a limited role at Kentucky. In addition to the weak box score, Orton looked out of shape, struggling to get down the floor, and was beat on several occasions.

Orton may soon be the leagues new “Big Baby”, as he was seen pouting on the court at times when he didn’t get the ball. His frustration mounted when he became tangled with Josh McRoberts of the Indiana Pacers. After a bump, a grab, and what looked to be an elbow thrown by Orton, the two were ejected from the game.

The performance was certainly one Orton would love to forget and move forward from and he will have that chance on Tuesday as the Orlando Magic take on the Utah Jazz at 1:00 PM EST. Orton was clearly upset with his first performance as his frustration shows in his first tweet shortly after the game. However, the “ha” in the second tweet seems as though Orton may not have taken the incident as seriously.
