While most of America will be off of work on Monday, players trying to make it in the NBA will be in Orlando for the 2010 AirTran Airways Pro Summer League. The first game begins on Monday, July 5th at 1:00pm and features the Charlotte Bobcats taking on the Utah Jazz.
The Bobcats roster features several great young players including one familiar old name, Darius Miles. Miles sat out last season and must be trying to get back in the league. Hopefully he won’t be too big of a disappointment. If Miles isn’t hogging the ball, look for Sherron Collins to put on a show.
The experienced player out of Kansas surprisingly did not hear his name called at all during the 2010 NBA Draft. He’s looking to make the naysayers pay for passing on him. With Raymond Felton a free agent, the Bobcats only have D.J. Augustin at the point and he can certainly use a backup for both the long and short term.
Collins could be in for a bit of a test as he’ll battle against Sundiata Gaines, who played limited minutes for the Jazz last season and Tyrese Rice who was a tough player to defend in his years at Boston College.
