NBA draft prospects were measured today at the combine in Chicago. Hassan Whiteside, the center out of Marshall, is listed as 7’0″ on the Thundering Herd’s Official Athletic Site. He measured in slightly shorter at 6’11.5″ at the NBA combine. However, Whiteside was not measured wearing the standard choice of basketball shoes, instead going more comfortably in his flip-flops.
Not only did Whiteside not measure as tall as he should have, but apparently he has a longer reach as well. Whiteside’s standing reach was measured at 9’5″, but according to some he was not fully extended.
Of course these measurements mean nothing as to how his play will translate to the NBA, but it is important to note that he is longer than currently listed.
