A “Wise” Decision

Nic Wise, the 5-10 point guard from Arizona, has signed NBA agent Andre Buck for representation. Although Nic ended his four-year Arizona career with sixteen points, 3 rebounds, and 1 assist in a loss to UCLA, he picked up a laundry list of awards along the way, including: First-Team All-Pac-10 and the NABC All District 20 Team as a senior.

At this point it is much too early in the process to know whether Wise will get drafted, but he certainly made a “Wise” decision selecting Andre Buck as his agent. Buck is no stranger to moving his clients up the draft board. Buck’s recent draft performances have shown that he is more than capable of getting a potentially undrafted player drafted. Think back to 2007 when he managed to get former Florida Gator power forward Chris Richard drafted 41st overall by the Timberwolves, or when he pulled off what can only be called a miracle getting Renaldo Balkman, now with Denver, drafted 20th overall by the Knicks in 2006.

Nic will really have to blow teams away in individual workouts, and Andre Buck will have to pull another rabbit out of his hat, but we aren’t going to completely rule out the possibility it could happen.  Nic can do a lot to help himself with a strong performance at the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament later this month.
